Z-18F Anti-Submarine Warfare and Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW) Helicopter, PLAN's New Weapons System For Submarine Hunt

New graphic image of Next Generation Chinese Z-18F Anti-Submarine Warfare and Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW) helicopter has appeared on Chinese internet. Z-18F ASuW helicopter is designed to independent as well as coordinated Anti-Submarine Warfare missions by finding, tracking and destroying enemy submarines.

It is outfitted with Sonobuoy launcher, forward looking infrared radar (FLIR) system mounted to starboard side, multi-mode 360° surveillance radar mounted under nose, a dipping sonar, and four weapon stations to carry anti-submarine torpedoes, depth charges and air-to-surface missiles.

It can fly as high an altitude as 100,000 feet with 3 times the speed of sound (3.5 Mach). It was in use by USAF for 40 years and was retired in 1998.

With the max speed of 6.72 Mach, X-15 is the 3rd fastest jet aircraft. Its engine is Thiokol XLR99-RM-2 liquid fuel rocket engine that uses liquid oxygen us fuel. It can fly as high as 354,330 feet.

This jet is fueled by Hydrogen and can move at a speed of 9.8 Mach. The credit goes to the supersonic-combustion-ramjet. It is produced by USA.

Is Iran building an Aircraft Carrier?!

Iran is building a 1/3rd replica of a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier to use in a movie called "Airbus", which narrates the story of the ill-fated Iran Air Flight 655.

What is interesting about this simple prop is the attention it's getting. More than one news site claimed it's actually built for military propose, primarily to serve as a simulation target. A few went as far as claiming that Iran is building this to gain experience about carrier building.

Whoever producing this movie, probably never anticipated they will get this kind of publicity.
