Pakistani UN Peacekeeping Mission in Congo

Pak Aviation-1 Contingent comprising three Puma helicopters arrived at KAVUMU Air Terminal, Bukavu, Congo. The helicopters had initially arrived in Entebbe, Uganda and after necessary fitments and test flights they flew to KAVUMU in South Kivu Brigade (SKB) Area of responsibility. Remaining strength of the contingent is expected to arrive within this month.

A graceful welcome ceremony was organized at the air terminal to receive the contingent. This is the first Pakistani Aviation Contingent to participate in peacekeeping mission in Democratic Republic Congo (DRC) which reflects the commitment and dedication of Pakistan towards UN and the Congolese Government in bringing peace to this country.

Puma helicopters are a valuable addition in MONUSCO military air assets and will help providing better assistance to the UN staff in carrying out their tasks.ISPR News
